Little Highlights on World Cup Final 1992

The Cricket World Cup 1992 Final was the Fifth Edition of the tournament and It was played between Pakistan and England from 22 Feb to 25 Mar 1992 in Australia and Newzealand, The Pakistani side come from behind to win the world cup, by defeating England in the final, This World Cup was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 25 March, Pakistani middle order showed tremendous grit to win the Semi-Final against Newzealand and carried it into final,

In the Final:
  • Captain Imran Khan scored 72 Runs off 98 balls, Javed Miandad 58 runs of 98 balls, Inzamam ul Haq 42 off 35 balls and Man of the Match Wasim Akram 33 off 18 balls,
  • England's DR Pringle took 3 Wickets in 10 Overs,
  • And set a target of 250 for England,
  • In Reply, They Struggle from the beginning, they lost their 4 wickets for just 69 Runs, England Top Scorer NH Fairbrother Scored 62 off 70 balls, AJ Lamb Scored 31 off 41 balls and GA Gooch Scored 29 off 66 balls,
  • And They were all out for 227 in 49.2 overs,
  • Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed took 3 Wickets each,
  • Pakistan won the match by defeating England by 22 Runs, and lift the World Cup for the first time.
