Little Highlights on World Cup Final 1979

The Cricket World Cup 1979 Final was the second edition of the tournament and It was played between West Indies and England from 9 to 23 June 1979 in England, Eight countries participated in the event. The matches played consisted of 60 overs per team and were played in traditional white clothing and with red balls.
In The Final:
  • England won the toss and chose to field first.
  • Man of the Match Vivian Richards off West Indies Scored 138 off 157 balls (11 Fours, 3 Sixes) and Collis King Scored 86 off 66 balls (10 fours, 3 sixes) and Set a Target of  286 runs,
  • In Reply Mike Brearley and Geoff Boycott off England give a stand of 129 runs partnership for the first wicket,
  • Michael Holding off West Indies send back these 2 opener to pavilion,
  • James Garner takes 5 wicket haul,
  • West Indies won the Tournament by 92 runs victory against England in Final.
